One Day Without Shoes

Wedges, booties, pumps, gladiators, flats, boots…and the list goes on and on. With so many shoe choices in a woman’s closet you may wonder why one would choose to go shoeless. Would you go shoeless for a great cause?

TOMS Shoes has come into the fashion limelight over the past few years. This shoe company founded by Blake Mycoskie is not only fashionable but also philanthropic; for every pair of shoes purchased, a pair is given to a child in need.

April 5, 2011 is not any normal Tuesday; it is a special day, which has been dubbed “One day without shoes.” TOMS Shoes proposed a challenge to go barefoot for a day. The movement stresses the power of “togetherness” and through the formation of teams, gals and guys from all over the United States are walking everywhere from on boardwalks to city streets…shoeless.

Did you participate in “One Day Without Shoes”? What other movements are you loving lately?
